What you need to know about free adware removal software

Protecting your computer from adware is vital if you want to keep it running properly. Having adware on your computer can also compromise your personal information if it is advanced enough. Spyware is the version of adware that can read passwords and access online accounts from behind the scenes. At the very least all those pop ups are very annoying when you are using your computer. Never click on any of them because this is the first step to infecting your computer with adware. You will be surprised how clever adware really is when it comes to hiding in your computer system. While you won’t be able to find it even searching specifically for it, the program continues to embed itself in your system and track your internet patterns of use. They are able to access the codes for your computer system so they are able to continue hiding out. In order to effectively remove such adware from your computer, you will need to have a very aggressive software removal tool. Yet this is a process that needs to be carefully followed in order to get the most benefits. There are plenty of adware removal tools to select from. Yet some of them do nothing but actually put adware onto your computer so make sure you research the background of the program before you commit to using it. Most adware removal programs are very simple to install and to use. Make sure you follow the directions and always accept the new updates that are sent your way to provide you with the very best line of protection. Look for those adware programs that have implemented the very latest technology as they will be able to fight the various types of adware programs that seem to get more complicated all the time. It is a good idea to consider a complete package of protection for your computer system. Invest in an anti virus program rather than settling for a free adware removal tool that you can implement. These anti virus programs can protect your computer from various types of infiltration processes that are engaged in to get your personal information. Once you have selected the right anti virus or adware protection program for your needs, carefully install it following all of the given directions. You will need to close all of your computer applications in order to do this successfully. In many instances you will be asked to turn off the internet connection during the installation process. As soon as the program has been installed it will run a complete scan of your entire computer system. Any adware it finds will be removed immediately while safeguards will be in place to prevent further attacks of your computer. Most adware removal tools will continue to work behind the scenes to watch for new adware on a regular basis.

How to back up your phone data online

For the storage of appointments and contacts, many people today rely on cell phones. However, the dependence on one single device can be unsafe and tricky in case your phone gets lost or stolen. In order to prevent the disaster of losing vital contact details, you should try to regularly back up your phone data. Most phones today come with the appropriate software allowing you to easily manage and back up these data. For example, in case you are using a SonyEricsson phone, the best PC software for your unit is Float’s Mobile Agent. However, the biggest disadvantage of using PC utilities for backing up your phone data is the fact that you need to regularly connect your cell phone to PC in order to obtain the updated version of your data. Most conventional back up methods copy your phone data onto any kind of media, like an external hard disc, DVD, or a USB memory stick. As much as these methods may seem quick and cheap, they are not reliable enough. Very often, laptops and peripherals get stolen from people’s houses and offices. Alternatively, you can try online phone backup services, which save your most critical phone data on a highly secure, off-site server on the Internet. This way, you can have your phone stolen, lost or destroyed, but at least your vital data such as contact list, calendar, pictures, videos or text messages will definitely survive. Additionally, even if your membership expires, many services will still keep your data online for a certain period of time in case you change your mind. The procedure is rather simple. You first register with the username, which is usually your phone number, upon which you will be sent a randomly generated password via sms text message and email address. Next, you can log on to the servers 24/7 through the management system and start the back up process. You can also and edit your information, listen to the ring tones you have backed up, watch the videos etc. You are recommended to check the data you have synchronized periodically just to make sure that your backup is complete. If you still don’t have backups of your critical phone data, sign up for an account with any of the online mobile phone backup services, back up your data and keep it regularly synchronized to save yourself from a potential disaster of getting your unit lost or stolen.

Memory upgrades an inexpensive way to boost computer performance

Many people buy a computer with only the minimum amount of memory (RAM) installed. The reasons for this vary, but usually computers with the minimum amount of RAM are cheaper than the others, so appear to be a bargain. Other folks have older computers that might have had a reasonable amount of memory installed at the time of purchase, but struggle to keep up with the memory requirements of modern applications. Installing additional memory is a relatively inexpensive way to boost performance in old and new computers alike. If your computer is 2-3 years old and it is running somewhat slow, then it's worth considering purchasing a memory upgrade before lashing out on a new computer. The majority of people that I talk to about computer memory upgrades (especially those with a computer over 2 years old) are surprised at the increase in overall performance after installing a memory upgrade. Typically it can extend the useable life of the average computer by another 2-3 years, at a mere fraction of the cost of buying a new one. Installing a memory upgrade is usually a simple process, requiring at most a phillips screwdriver to either undo the memory hatch on your notebook, or to remove the case if you have a desktop pc. Once you have access to the memory slots, it's just a simple matter of pushing the memory module into the spare slot firmly, closing the hatch or putting the case back on, putting the screw back in, and rebooting the computer. It can be a more complicated exercise if your memory slots are fully populated, but a competent memory supplier should be able to provide you with advice on the upgrade options available and whether or not you will need to remove one or more of the existing modules to make room for larger ones. The question a lot of people ask me when considering buying a memory upgrade is "What size memory upgrade should I buy?" I usually answer this with a question: "Tell me about the sort of things you use your computer for?" Generally speaking I recommend you install 512mb if you are running Windows XP on your computer. Microsoft say that the minimum is far less, but it really is the minimum in my opinion. 512Mb of installed memory will give you enough room for Windows XP to load, and a little spare for a couple of web browser windows, an email client, antivirus application, and a spreadsheet or word processor. If you run OSX or a flavour of Linux, I still recommend 512mb as a minimum. If you only have the generally accepted minimum of 256mb, this is barely enough to load Windows XP. As you start up other applications, your pc will begin to allocate "virtual" memory. This means that a section of your computers hard drive is used for moving around data in the same way that physical memory is used, only it goes a lot slower. If you do photo editing in addition to the basics, think about going up to 1GB of installed memory. If you are a home video buff or play a lot of computer games, then 2GB is really going to keep you productive. (Is gaming productive?). Memory upgrades are available from many different sources, and made by a lot of different manufacturers. Kingston are probably the best known manufacturer, and they make modules for most of the top OEM's, who rebrand Kingston memory as their own. Before purchasing an RAM upgrade, be sure to ask if the memory is guaranteed to be compatible with your PC or laptop, and is backed by a no-quibble return policy. Always make sure a lifetime warranty applies as well. So if you or your kids are complaining about their latest computer game running too slow, consider that you might not need to buy a new computer even if it is a couple of years old, but simply upgrade the one you have with some more memory. It can make a world of difference, and make your computing investment last a lot longer.

Help my email is driving me crazy part 2

Create Folders Once you delete emails you do not need and deal with the spam, you will still no doubt have a lot of email left to deal with. Instead of letting hundreds of emails build up in your box, it is important that you find a filing system to allow you to get them organized. Start building email folders that you can file specific emails in. You may want to create a folder for work related email, email from friends and family, financial or shopping email, and maybe even a folder designated to travel. Having specific folders to file emails in can help you keep your inbox nice and clean, and it will be easier to deal with incoming email as well. Archive Folders While creating folders can greatly help you control your inbox, if you receive a few hundred emails a day, these folders may be filling up quickly and you may need to organize your email even more. One thing that you can do is to set up archive folders that will hold your email that was received before a certain date. You can actually set up these folders just like your inbox so everything will be filed appropriately. You may even want to set up an archive folder for each month so it is easy to find older emails. This will help you make sure that only more current emails are stored in the folders in your email inbox. Organize Your Address Book While you want to keep your email inbox organized, you will also want to make sure that it is easy for you to send out emails as well. One way that you can make it easier to send out emails is to make sure that your address book is organized as well. While many email programs will organize your address book alphabetically, you may find that this is not the most effective way for you. You can choose to organize your addresses in groups that will make them easy for you to find and this type of organization will also make it easier for you to send out group messages as well. When it comes to your email inbox problems, organization is the key to success. Keeping everything organized on a regular basis will help take the craziness out of checking your email. Start using these tips and you will be amazed at how much time you can save and how much easier it becomes to deal with your email.

What are the advantages of bluetooth technology

The Bluetooth technology is a wireless communication that operates as radio waves, using a band set at 2.4GHz. This frequency is available at no charge. The Bluetooth technology allows two devices to connect wirelessly with each other, and incorporates the use of "Centrino" chips. These chips are available easily in most standard electronic devices such as laptops, cellular phones, computers, headsets, etc. There are many advantages of using Bluetooth wireless technology. The most important is the fact that any two devices can be connected with each other without the use of any cables or wires. Added to that, is that using Bluetooth devices is very safe and also convenient. Now you can get rid of the cables and wires that connect your computer to other devices. Often you need to use cables to connect your computer with the keyboard, the mouse, various cradles for electronic equipment such as PDAs, printers, etc. All these annoying cords can be eliminated if you use Bluetooth enabled devices and you can have an uncluttered and well maintained computer room with a minimum of wires lying on the floor. Also, every time you need to move your computer equipment to a different place, you have to first unplug all the cables connected to the other external devices, which is a nuisance. Bluetooth technology now makes it possible to connect any devices without using any wires. You no longer have to worry about what plug goes in where should you need to move and reconnect your equipment. Another advantage of using Bluetooth wireless technology is the safety factor. While driving your car it is extremely dangerous to use one hand to hold your cell phone and the other for driving. It is even illegal to do this in some countries as phoning while driving is a major cause of road accidents. You should always leave both your hands free while driving. Now, thanks to Bluetooth technology you can use a Bluetooth headset to receive your phone calls and to talk to the person on the other end of the "line". This way you can drive safely with both hands on the steering wheel. Bluetooth wireless technology also makes our lives so much easier. This technology does not require you to be in close proximity or tethered to the electronic device to be able to use it. You can walk around and do other chores while using your Bluetooth headset. For example, you can cook in the kitchen while listening to your favorite music, without disturbing other people around you. You just have to play the music on your computer and switch on the Bluetooth headphones. Cooking is then no longer a chore!

Types of notebook computers

Notebook, notebook computer, laptop, and laptop computer are different terms for a small computer, which is mobile, and weighing about 1 to 6 kg or 2.2 to 18 pounds, depending upon the model. In 1979-1980, Bill Moggridge of GRiD Systems Corp. designed one of the first laptops and named it as the GRiD Compass 1101. It featured the clamshell design where the flat display folded shut on the keyboard. In May 1983, Gavilan Computer Corp. introduced and first marketed as a laptop, known as Gavilan SC. About this same time, Sharp Corp. Ltd., announced their laptop Sharp PC-5000. In 1989, Compaq introduced Compaq LTE, which was a laptop of a smaller size, about the size of an A4 paper notebook, and it popularly came to be known as a notebook computer or notebook. Thereafter the terms laptop and notebook began to be used interchangeably. Nevertheless, the terms, notebook and laptop are incorrect terms, as due to the heat, many laptops cannot be placed on top of the lap, and most notebooks are not the size of an A4 paper notebook. However, what manufacturers usually call as a notebook, end-users prefer to call it as a laptop; hence both the terms are used. According to the functions and the models of notebooks, they are generally classified as: Ultraportables (screen is diagonally less than 12 inches, weight is 1.7 kg or less); thin-and lights (screen is diagonally from 12 to 14 inches, weight is from 1.8 to 2.8 kg); medium-sized laptops (screen is diagonally from 14 to 15.4 inches, weight is from 3 to 3.5 kg); and desktop replacement computers (screen is diagonally from 17 to 20 inches, weight is 4 to 6 kg). The concept of laptop was to make a device that could use the same software of a desktop computer, but much smaller in size to enable mobility and support mobile computing (ability to use the computer while in transit). Thus, further innovations have introduced transportables (which can be moved from one place to another without supporting mobile computing); tablets (which feature touchscreens and support mobile computing); ultra mobile PCs (which are very small and compact tablet PCs); internet tablets (which support internet and mobile computing); personal digital assistants (PDAs), which are pocket-sized and support mobile computing; handheld computers, which represent expensive tablets or PDAs; and smartphone, which is a PDA or a handheld computer with cellphone integration. Over the development phases, these classifications got blurry at times, and many machines fused functionalities of other categories. Notebooks can be used for various purposesmercial purposes like attending phone calls, receiving and sending emails and faxes, typing out letters and printing them, making presentations with pie and bar charts, and taking data from one place to another can be achieved by any standard notebook. However, high fliers prefer thin-and-light notebooks and for regular office work, ultraportable notebooks are preferred. Both are wireless notebooks so they can be remotely accessed. Scientific purposes are best suited with a notebook that features fast computing speed, good 2D and 3D graphics display, and a large memory, like desktop replacement notebook, and a thin-and-light notebook. Artistic purposes require animation, 2D and 3D drawings, interior & exterior designing, arranging music compositions, post-production audio-video work, etc., which can be fulfilled by desktop replacements, gaming notebooks, and mainstream notebooks. Educational institutions normally do not prefer notebooks due to its high chance of being stolen. Additionally, they prefer that their assets do not move around within the premises in the hands of students who may be careless. However, to keep up with the times, and to be considered as techno-savvy, they do invest in notebooks. The types of notebooks best suited for educational purposes are mainstream notebooks, and desktop replacements. Students need a notebook to do projects, prepare study notes, and to play some games in their spare time. They need to take the notebook wherever they go, hence, size and weight are major considerations. The type of notebook that fulfills student needs is a thin-and-light notebook with locking facility so that they can lock it with their backpack. Most students report late submission of projects due to their notebooks being stolen. So no matter what the purpose one might have for using a notebook, it seems that mobility will always seem to be the main reason for such a product purchase. Nowadays with so many models being offered with affordable prices, it seems that notebooks will always be a product in demand. After all it is one of the best selling computer hardware for quite some time. And that says it all.

Erp selections making friends or making enemies

When searching for a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, there is the right way and the wrong way. If you were to follow all the presumably right things to do, you can still make some awful mistakes. One of the most dreadful things that you can do is to choose the software and then choose the implementation partner. Let’s illustrate a typical scenario. A company is looking for new business software. They decide that they will do the best practice way of selecting software. They define their requirements, they then send out these requirements to the VAR (Value Added Reseller) of the ERP solutions. For the sake of argument, they choose four software providers and send the RFI (Request for Information) to four different VARs, one from each of the software solutions. They get back the RFI’s and then start to eliminate the candidates. They drive it to two solutions. The next step is for them to have the VARs provide demos. If they do it correctly, they have the VARs demonstrate the software according to their business process with their actual data. The demonstrations go well and they now have the decision of which software to go with. They choose “X”. Then someone on the team says “Yes, X is great software, but I am not sure about the VAR. What if we look at some other VARs or implementation partners?” At this point the problems begin. The company wants to interview and get references on three other VARs. They begin doing the due diligence on these other implementers. You might be asking, “So what have they done wrong? It makes sense to check out all the implementation options.” Yes that is true, but what about the VAR that spent days and weeks preparing, demonstrating and learning about the company and their business? They have invested a lot of time and resources. Some would argue that that is just the nature of competition. True, but…. what if you find that there is not a better VAR than the one you began with. Now all you have done is made them feel distrusted and alienated. This is not the way to start an implementation. It could have dire consequences down the road. You want an implementation partner who is your trusted advisor. Going into an implementation should be a partnership working towards a similar goal. Bringing in other candidates at the end of the selection is not the way to bring a trusted relationship to the table. If you are dealing with a software company that has various VARs, the ideal situation is to ask the software developer, which VAR they would recommend for your business type and industry. This must be done early in the selection when you have just come to the first list of candidate software providers. They may give you a couple of names. You can then screen these two or three VARs early to choose an implementer who you want to do business with, should you choose their software. Then if they are not selected, they understand that it is your choice in software, and if they are selected along with the software, you have already vetted them and you can now begin an implementation with a truly trusted advisor. Many people forget that the VARs put a lot of time and money into chasing you the lead. If you choose them early and then choose the ERP software, then you move together in unity. If you choose the ERP system and then choose the VAR, the VAR will hold resentment at having spent the time and money only to be possibly tossed out at the end, when another VAR, who has done nothing, gets the implementation. Should the chosen VAR not work out and you have to go back to the first VAR, there will be little chance of working with them as a trusted advisor. So choose the people early and before the choice of software is made. Doing so will only aid in a successful implementation.
